Clipping Tool
The Hammer Clipping Tool Shift + X is one of the most used tools in Hammer. You can use it to slice down the middle of a brush splitting it in two, leaving two separate brushes. With the Clipping Tool you have three separate modes.
You can:
- Slice it into two seperate brushes
- Slice it and delete one side (Eg, The Left Side)
- Slice it and delete one side (Eg, The Right Side)
To change what mode you want to use press the Clipping Tool again. The colour of the brush will cycle through three times. Twice where one side of the brush is red and once when the brush is white.
To use the Clipping tool:
First Select the brush you want to clip.
Then select the Clipping tool from the toolbar.
Drag across the brush you want to clip.
And then hit Enter

As you can see the side that was red was the side that was clipped. Leaving the white side behind.
That’s how simple clipping is! You can obviously create more complex objects with more clipping but, you will have to experiment.
